Beta, Balancing, and a Dash of Chaos

2024: Year of the Solo Grind

What a ride. This year, I built Triad from scratch. Just me, my keyboard, and an unhealthy amount of caffeine, to get to the Beta stage. Here’s the breakdown of what went down:

Tons of cards

And a ton of illustrations: That’s 250 unique cards, 40 meticulously designed quests, all brought to life with custom illustrations, voices, and FX. It works in-browser (your laptop loves it) and even has partial Android support (your phone tolerates it).

Playtests Galore

This one’s my favorite. We did countless playtests, with some players getting so hooked they spent weeks refining their strategies. The result? A core game loop that’s buttery smooth: play actions ➡ complete quests ➡ unlock high-end spells and items. Every turn feels meaningful, and the balance is stable.

Alt Art and Holiday Cheer

Marketing didn’t get much love this year, but I still managed to churn out 3 trailers and locked in a partnership with Aurory DAO.

2025: The Year We Go Big

Now that the foundation is laid, it’s time to shift gears. Here’s what’s cooking:

Growing the team

To help grow marketing, Sinpar joined the team, with a ton of classic TCG experience as well as in the web3 TCG niche.

NFT Integration

The last major piece before launch. Card pack mints drop in Q1, and here’s the twist: every dollar of profit goes straight into cash prize pools for seasons and tournaments. If you’re a beta tester, congrats—you’re getting whitelist access and a discount (it’s not too late).

A Major Partnership

We’ve secured a deal with a big-name gaming platform. Won’t say more yet, but it’s the kind of partnership that makes people go, “Whoa, Triad’s legit.”
